Sensex recovers 104.99 pts as market closes

The BSE Sensex on Monday recovered by 104.99 pts to close at 72748.42 on the strength of Metal, Auto and Health Care stocks.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) improved 32.35 pts at 22055.70.

The NSE registered days high and low at 22,130.77 and 21,916.55 pts respectively.

High volatility was seen during the day as the Sensex opened at 72587.30, fell 56 pts. During the day it was dropped 329 pts at 72314.16, days low. Later' it erased earlier losses and finished positive at 72,748.42, gaining 104.99 pts from it previous close. It was registered days high at 72985.89, up 342 pts.

The stocks that lifted the market were Metal by 2.88 pc, Auto by 1.08 pc, Commodities by 0.91 pc and Health Care by 0.88 pc.

The Mid cap rose 0.04 pc whike Small Cap eased by 0.07 pc.

In 30 scrips, 14 advanced, while 16 declined.

The gainers were Tata Steel by 5.69 pc to Rs 149.60, M& M by 3.05 pc to Rs 1856.75, JSW Steel by 2.82 pc to Rs 803 and Tata Motors by 2.75 pc to Rs 972.20.

The losers were Infosys by 1.89 pc to Rs 1604, TCS by 1.72 pc to Rs 4144.75, Titan by 1.43 pc to Rs 3581 and Wipro by 1.25 pc to Rs 510.35.
