Sensex opens flat at 73903.09 points during opening trade

The BSE Sensex on Monday was almost flat to open at 73903.69', rising 17 points as buying was seen in oil and gas, power, and real estate stocks.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 25.61 points to 22364.35.

The Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 73983.88 and 73750.61 points respectively.

The Nifty registered intraday highs and lows at 22,440.90 and 20,358.30 points, respectively.

The midcap fell by 0.23 pc and the small cap by 0.64 pc.

In 30 scrips, 11 advanced, while 19 declined.

The gainers were NTPC by 1.83 pc to Rs 348.45, Powergrid by 1.69 pc to Rs 291.75, Bharti Airtel by 0.97 pc to Rs 1141.60, Sun Pharma by 0.77 pc to Rs 1563 and Kotak by 0.47 pc to Rs 1732.75.

The losers were JSW Steel by 2.75 pc to Rs 821, Tata Steel by 2.13 pc to Rs 151.85, M&M by 1.35 pc to Rs 1934.60 and Titan by 1.19 pc to Rs 3719.65.
