Sensex drops by 736.37 points as market ends in red

The BSE Sensex on Tuesday dropped 736.37 pts to close at 72012.05 as selling was seen in IT, Technology ' FMCG and Power stocks amid weak Asian Market ahead of US fed policy decision this week.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) slid 238.25 pts at 21,817.45.

The NSE registered days high and low at 21,978.30 and 21,793.10 pts respectively.

Gaining 104 pts on Monday.

as the Sensex opened at 72462.94 fell 288 pts. During the day it was tumbled down 815 pts 71,933.35 day's low, before closing at 72012.05, sliding 736.37 pts from it previous close.

The stocks that dragged the market were IT by 2.66 pc, Technology by 2.36 pc, FMCG by 2.11 pc and Power by 1.94 pc.

The Mid cap declined 1.36 pc and Small Cap by 1.24 pc.

In 30 scrips, 7 advanced, while 23 declined.

The losers were TCS by 4.03 pc to Rs 3977.55, Nestle India Ltd by 3.37 pc to Rs 2496.65, IndusInd bank by 3.15 pc to Rs 1434.25, HCL Technology by 2.62 pc to Rs 1588.95 and Infosys by 2.52 pc to Rs 1561.95.

The gainers were Bajaj Finance by 1.38 pc to Rs 6592.25, Kotak Bank by 0.57 pc to Rs 1747.10, ICICI bank by 0.26 pc to Rs 1084.05 and Bharti Airtel by 0.23 pc to Rs 1227.85.
