Sensex down over 300 points

Mumbai, Sep 16 (UNI) The BSE Sensex remained under pressure for the third session on Friday, as it dropped 338.54 points at 59,595.45 in opening trade, on selling in IT, Telecom, Auto and Bankex stocks.

The Nifty too slid 115.10 points at 17,762.30.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 59,720.56 and 59,395.81 points respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,820.85 and 17,716.10 points respectively.

The Mid Cap fell by 0.13 while Small Cap by 0.09 per cent respectively.

In 30 scrips, 6 advanced while 24 declined.

The losers were M& M by 2.25 per cent to Rs 1267.75, Tech Mahindra by 2.20 per cent to Rs 1058.65, TCS by 1.62 per cent to Rs 3053.95, Wipro by 1.30 per cent to Rs 409.70 and Axis Bank by 1.39 per cent to Rs 779.90.

The gainers were IndusInd Bank by 2.97 per cent to Rs 1231.55, Sun Pharma by 0.86 per cent to Rs 881.25, Bajaj finance by 0.52 per cent to Rs 7424 and Asian Paints by 0.41 per cent to Rs 3408.
