Sensex declines 55 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Thursday declined 55 pts to open at 65,391.88 as selling was seen in Financial services, IT, and Auto stocks.

The Nifty too eased 14 points to 19,385.70.

The midcap moved up 0.19 percent and the small cap by 0.45 percent.

In 30 scrips, 17 advanced while 13 declined.

The losers were IndusInd Bank by 0.87 pc to Rs 1387.80, Tata Steel by 0.84 pc to Rs 111.95, Bajaj Finance by 0.80 pc to Rs 7775, and Hind Unilever by 0.58 pc to Rs 2739.85.

The gainers were Powergrid by 1.66 pc to 257.45, Nestle India by 0.83 pc to Rs 23072, and Reliance Industries by 0.82 pc to Rs 2606.60.
