Public sector lender State Bank of India (SBI) on Friday reported its highest-ever quarterly net profit of ₹21,121 crore, driven by robust loan growth across key business segments.

The bank's whole bank advances grew 18.63% year-on-year (YoY), while domestic advances rose 18.15% YoY.

The Retail, Agriculture and SME (RAM) portfolio remained the key growth driver, with RAM advances increasing 18.20% YoY. SBI said all major business segments—including Retail, Agriculture, SME and Corporate—continued to register strong double-digit growth during the quarter.

Commenting on the bank's performance, SBI Chairman C.S. Setty said: "At SBI, our strategic direction continues to be guided by a simple philosophy—Digital First, Customer First and Nation Always.

"During the quarter, we continued to simplify banking by expanding our flagship Operations Process Re-engineering project, SARAL, with the objective of making customer journeys faster, simpler and more convenient.

"We also introduced YONO Ji, an Agentic AI-powered virtual assistant on YONO Business, to provide our commercial clientele with round-the-clock support.

"We have extended our Business Rule Engine, MSME Dream, to cover SME loans of up to ₹10 crore, enabling faster and more consistent credit decisions without compromising underwriting standards."
