RIL's telecom arm launches Jio True 5G in Bengaluru & Hyderabad

Mumbai/IBNS: Jio True 5G was launched on Thursday in the two southern tech-centric cities of Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

The Reliance Industries Limited's (RIL's) telecom arm customers will have access to the 'Jio Welcome Offer' through which they will get unlimited 5G data with up to 1Gbps+ speeds at no additional cost, the company said.

Jio True 5G had been already rolled out as part of the telecom player's beta-launch in six cities- Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Varanasi and Nathdwara,

The firm said that Jio True 5G is already being "experienced by lakhs of users" across the six cities, and responses have been "extremely positive and reassuring".

As per customer customer insights, Jio users are experiencing speeds anywhere between 500 Mbps to 1 Gbps on their  smartphones and are using "very high quantities of data, seamlessly".

The network-provider said it's 5G services have a three-fold advantage due to its "stand-alone 5G architecture" with no dependency on 4G network; including the "largest and best mix of 5G spectrum" across 700 MHz, 3500 MHz, and 26 GHz bands that comes along a carrier aggregation that "seamlessly combines these 5G frequencies" into a single “data highway”.
