New Delhi/UNI: Spearheaded by a growth in sports utility vehicles (SUVs), overall sales of Mahindra & Mahindra for the month of November, 2021 stood at 40,102 vehicles.

The total sales comprise passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and exports.

The automotive company’s passenger vehicles segment which includes SUVs, cars and vans, saw a dispatch of 19,458 vehicles in November this year.

This is seven percent higher than the sales number obtained in the corresponding month last year (18,212 units).

Out of Nov 2021's total sales, 19,384 have been sports utility vehicles and the rest (74) have been cars and vans. The company sold 17,971 SUVs in the year ago period.

According to Veejay Nakra, CEO of Automotive Division at M&M, the growth in SUVs continues with an 8 percent increase in the month of November, 2021.

“The demand remains strong across the product portfolio of SUVs, pickups, and small commercial vehicles,” said Nakra.

In terms of exports for the month of November 2021, the company shipped 3,101 vehicles which is 90 percent higher than 1,636 vehicles exported in the corresponding month a year ago.

Issues around semiconductor related parts continue to remain a challenge for the industry and the company is monitoring the situation closely and taking appropriate steps, he said.
