Mahindra & Mahindra sold 9% more vehicles in January compared to the same month a year ago

Mumbai, Feb 1 (IBNS): Mahindra & Mahindra, one of India's leading utility vehicle (UV) and farm equipment maker, said its total sale of vehicles increased over 9% in January 2016 compared to January 2015.

The company sold 43,789 vehicles in January 2016 compared to 39,930 units sold in January 2015.

In its release, the company said its sales increased 9.84% to 40,693 units in the domestic market against 37,045 units sold in January 2015 while exports increased  7.31% to 3,096 units as against 2,885 units during the same comparable months.

Sale of passenger vehicles, including Scorpio, XUV 500, Xylo, Bolero and Verito, stood at 22,088 units compared with 19,573 units in January 2015.

Commercial vehicle sales grew to 14,385 units against 12,946 units.
