Mumbai/IBNS: Shares of Larsen & Toubro Ltd. rose over 3% on Wednesday after the company announced it had secured a major water management project in Assam, media reports said.

The stock was up 3.36% at ₹3,635.10 as of around 11 am. The order has been awarded to L&T’s Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) business vertical by the Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water & Sewerage Board.

The project aims to deliver a 24x7 safe and continuous water supply to households in South-East Guwahati, improving the reliability of the city’s water infrastructure.

The scope of work includes design, supply, installation, construction, testing, and commissioning of key components such as a barge-mounted intake system, raw water rising main, water treatment plant, reservoirs, booster pumping stations, and a distribution network with household connections.

It also involves the deployment of an integrated SCADA system for real-time monitoring and performance management, along with operations and maintenance for five years.

This order further strengthens L&T’s presence in the Northeast and reinforces its commitment to delivering sustainable and efficient water solutions across key regions.:
