Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) bolsters collaboration with Tata Communications to advance digital transformation

London: Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) announced on Tuesday an enhanced collaboration with Tata Communications to ensure a future-ready digital transformation across the global sites of the British automaker, a report in the media said.

This renewed partnership is set to support the manufacturing of JLR's upcoming generation of vehicles, a pivotal element of its re-imagine strategy, and establish the connectivity groundwork for the organization's next stage of digital transformation, the automaker said in a statement.

As part of this collaboration, Tata Communications will implement its cloud-first, software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) technology, establishing connectivity among all 128 JLR sites worldwide.

According to the statement, this advanced global connectivity linking JLR's global headquarters with its plants, warehouses, sales centers, data centers, and cloud services will significantly enhance supply chain efficiency and security for the automaker owned by Tata Motors.

The transformation is expected to enable JLR to integrate AI-powered and real-time data capturing, monitoring, and analysis to enhance the performance of production lines.

Moreover, the collaboration will markedly reduce the time required to upgrade manufacturing processes, enhance operational resilience, and improve agility to effectively respond to production demands, according to JLR.

"The connectivity platform will help us build the world-class ecosystem we need to deliver modern luxury vehicles and remarkable driving experiences," JLR Group Chief Digital and Information Officer Tony Battle said.

Sumeet Walia, the Executive Vice President and Chief Sales and marketing Officer at Tata Communications, stated that the company is implementing a 'digital fabric,' which includes its flexible infrastructure, platforms, and managed services.

This digital fabric will facilitate the integration of JLR's systems, workforce, suppliers, stakeholders, and customers on a global scale, ensuring a seamless flow of data to enhance various facets of the business ecosystem.

It's worth noting that JLR and Tata Communications have maintained a longstanding partnership.
