Indian Rupee down 52 paise against USD
Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Monday tumbled down 52 paise to close at 74.87 against the US Dollar on rising demand for US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.
The local unit that slid 47 paise to 74.82 in opening trade and finished negative at 74.87, down 52 paise as compared to its previous close.
The local unit registered days high and low at 74.92 and 74.77 respectively.
The Rupee plummeted owing to strong dollar against other world currencies amid negative equity market, dealers added.
