Indian Market: Sensex up over 200 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday rallied 262 points to open at 50,899.58 as buying was seen in Finance, Health Care, Industrials and IT stocks.

The Nifty too rose 49 points to 15,257.

The Sensex registered intra-day's high and low at 50,901.18 and 50,620.45 points respectively.

The Nifty registered intra-day's high and low at 15,258.60 and 15,194.95 points respectively.

The Mid Cap moved up 0.02 per cent and Small Cap 0.73 per cent.

In 30 scrips, 20 advanced while 10 declined.

The gainers were Titan by 2.56 per cent to Rs 1609.40, Sun Pharma by 1.30 per cent to Rs 705.10, L& T by 1.21 per cent to Rs 1468.45 and Bajaj Finserv by 1.05 per cent to Rs 11490.

The losers were Powergrid by 1.89 per cent to Rs 228.55, NTPC by 0.66 per cent to Rs 112.50, ICICI Bank by 0.65 per cent to Rs 645.60, Kotak Bank by 0.62 per cent to Rs 1739.60 and HDFC Bank by 0.46 per cent to Rs 1471.95.
