Indian Market: Sensex surges 447.05 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Tuesday gained further by 447.05 pts to end strong at 50,296.89 following gains in Auto, IT, Telecom and Technology stocks.

The Nifty too rose by 157.55 pts to 14,919.10.

The day opened on a strong note at 50,258.09, shot up by 409 pts. During the day it spurted 590 pts to 50,439.82, days high before closing at 50,296.89, up by 447.05 pts from its previous close.

The sensex registered days high and low at 50,439.82 and 49,807.12 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 14,959.10 and 14,760.80 pts.

The sectoral indices like Auto, IT, Industrials, Telecom and Technology pushed the market up.

In scrips, M& M, NTPC, Bajaj Auto, Tech Mahindra and TCS boosted the same. While, ONGC, HDFC, Powergrid and Dr Reddy declined.

The Mid Cap rose by 1.55 pc and Small Cap by 1.60 pc.

In 30 scrips, 25 advanced while 5 declined.
