Indian Market: Sensex, Nifty snap winning streak, end in red

Mumbai/UNI: Snapping their three-day winning streak, market benchmarks the Sensex and the Nifty ended in red territory on Friday.

At the close, the Sensex was at 59,015.89, lower 125 points or 0.21 per cent while the Nifty 17,585.15, lower 44 points or 0.25 per cent.

The Sensex, which opened at 59,409.98, registered days high and low at 59,737.32 and 58,871.73 points respectively.

The Nifty, which opened at 17,709.65, recorded days high and low at 17,792.95 and 17,537.65 points respectively.

BSE Midcap and smallcaps underperform. BSE Midcap index fell 1.14 percent while the smallcap index closed with a loss of 1.06 per cent.

KotakBank, HDFC Bank, Bharati Airtel, Maruti and NestleInd were among the top gainers at BSE while Mahindra and Mahindra, IndusIndBank, NTPC, LT, Power Grid and Infy and Titan were among the top losers.
Kotak Bank, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, Maruti, Axis Bank were among the top gainers while Tata Stell, Coal India, SBIN, Hindalco, TCS and UPL were among the top losers.
