Indian Market: Sensex down 400 pts

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Monday dropped 400 pts at 56,660.62 in opening session as selling was seen across the board.

The Nifty declined 125.50 pts at 16,977.05.

The sensex registered days high and low at 56,795.69 and 56,412.62 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered days high and low at 17,014.80 and 16,917.25 pts respectively.

The Mid cap fell 0.84 pc and Small Cap by 1.02 pc. In 30 scrips, 8 advanced while 23 declined.

The losers were Asian Paints by 2.45 pc to Rs 3160, Titan by 2.45 pc to Rs 2398.90, Wipro by 2.30 pc to y 497.30 and Sun Pharma by 2.25 pc to Rs 498.40. The gainers were IndusInd Bank by 3.62 pc to Rs 1013.60, NTPC by 2.08 pc to Rs 156.80, Ultracemco by 1.10 pc to Rs 6705.55 and HDFC by 0.97 pc to Rs 2249.70.
