Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Tuesday slipped 106.98 pts to settle at 65,846.50 as selling was witnessed in Metal, Telecommunications, Utilities and Commodities stocks amid mixed trend in Asian Market.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell 26.45 pts at 19,570.85 pts.
The Sensex rise by 95 pts at 66,048.81. During the day it was surged 104 pts at 66,057.53, days high. In late trade it was erased earlier gains and dipped nearly 201 pts to 65,752.63, days low, before closing at 65,846.50, sliding 106.98 pts from its previous close.
In stocks Metal, a top loser, fell 0.94 pc followed by Telecommunications by 0.92 pc, Utilities by 0.60 pc and Commodities by 0.54 pc.
The scrips that dragged the market were Powergrid fell by 2.62 pc to Rs 241.50, M& M by 1.78 pc to Rs 1499.55, JSW Steel by 1.48 pc to Rs 800.80, HCL Technology by 0.88 pc to Rs 1140.90 and Sun Pharma by 0.87 pc to Rs 1149.80
However, the gainers were Wipro by 1.34 pc to be 416.55, Bajaj finance by 0.98 pc to Rs 7186.35, SBI by 0.89 pc to Rs 572.90 and Axis Bank by 0.62 pc to. Rs 953.
The Mid cap eased by 0.15 pc and Small cap by 0.25 pc.
In 30 scrips, 10 advanced while 20 declined.
A mixed trend was witnessed in Asian Market as Nikkei rose by 0.38 pc and Strait Times by 0.12 pc while Hang Seng slipped by 1.84 pc and Taiwan weighted by 0.70 pc.
