Indian benchmarks end higher on Monday, Nifty crosses 10,000 after Aug 7

Mumbai, Sep 11 (IBNS): NSE Nifty finally managed to scale the psychological 10,000 mark for the first time since August 7 largely due to rally in global peers, according to media reports.

The benchmark indices began the week on positive note with NSE Sensex up 194.64 points at 31,882.16 and NSE Nifty up 71.25 points at 10,006.05.

Top gainers on Monday were L&T, IndusInd Bank, Asian Paints, Tata Motors (D), Tata Power, Maruti Suzuki, Yes Bank, GAIL and BHEL while M&M, Idea Cellular, Infosys, TCS, Sun Pharma and ICICI Bank.
