Indian benchmark indices gain on Tuesday

Mumbai, Jan 10 (IBNS): The Indian market perked up on Tuesday following investor interest in auto, infra and oil stocks and closed on positive note, media reported.

BSE Sensex was up 173.01 points at 26899.56 and NSE Nifty was up 52.55 points at 8288.60.


Some of the key stocks that gained on Tuesda were Tata Motors, Adani Ports, Tata Steel, Asian Paints and HDFC Bank while Axis Bank, Dr Reddy's Labs, ONGC, Lupin and NTPC ended as losers on the BSE Sensex.
