GRSE receives ONGC contract for construction of four platform supply vessels

| @indiablooms | Aug 03, 2026, at 05:37 pm

Reinforcing India's push for self-reliance in maritime manufacturing, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has received a Notification of Award (NoA) from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) for the construction of four Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs).

GRSE received the Notification of Award on July 30, 2026, for the design, construction and delivery of the four vessels.

The order marks a significant diversification of GRSE's shipbuilding portfolio, strengthening the shipyard's presence in the commercial and offshore vessel segment.

The project is expected to make a substantial contribution to India's offshore energy infrastructure while further enhancing the country's indigenous shipbuilding capabilities in line with the government's vision of self-reliance in the maritime and defence sectors.
