DGCA allows Go First 30 days to submit revival plan

New Delhi: Aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has allowed cash-strapped airline Go First a 30-day period to present a detailed plan for reviving its operations, media reports said.

Earlier, the airline had stated that it currently does not have a specific timeframe for resuming its operations.

Go First has filed for voluntary resolution and stopped operations on May 3.

On May 24, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) instructed the airline to submit a comprehensive restructuring plan within a 30-day timeframe to ensure a sustainable revival of its operations, said media reports.

The authorities have asked Go First to provide information regarding the status of its operational aircraft fleet, pilots, and other personnel, as well as details on maintenance arrangements, funding and working capital, and agreements with lessors and vendors.

Economic Time reported citing sources Go First has submitted its response to the show cause notice issued by the DGCA on May 8.

In its reply, the airline has requested permission to use the moratorium period to create a comprehensive restructuring plan for the resumption of operations. The company intends to present this plan to the aviation watchdog for approval before restarting its operations.
