Kolkata/UNI: Department of Posts, West Bengal Circle, has launched a new concept on the information of the Postmen available to the members of public.

In this “Know Your Postman” concept, detailed information of the person serving in a specific area will be available in just a click. Logging into the official portal of West Bengal Postal Circle, at www.westbengalpost.gov.in one can find the details of the postman/woman in the dropdown list under the “services”.

As a pilot project, details of delivery postmen of six premium offices, viz. Alipore Head Post Office, Ballygunge Mukhya Dak Ghar, Bhawanipore Mukhya Dak Ghar, BNCC Block Sub Post Office, Dumdum Mukhya Dak Ghar and Park Street Head Post Office have been made available in the portal at present, and soon the entire city will come under this unique project.

Postmen are the face of the Department of Posts to the members of public. Even amidst the nationwide lock down due to COVID-19 pandemic situation, providing timely services in respect of delivery of letters, parcels, urgent medicines etc. to the members of public could be ensured due to the selfless services provided by the Postmen of this Department.

Moreover, in addition to the conventional services, Postmen are now offering Doorstep Banking Services, Doorstep Digital Life Certificate update services etc. to the members of public, especially amongst the elderly, which has made it pertinent to all to know their Postmen.
