The Ministry of Finance stated COVID-19 pandemic as the reason behind extending the deadline.

The Ministry of Finance tweeted: " In view of the continued challenges faced by taxpayers in meeting statutory compliances due to outbreak of COVID-19, the Govt further extends the dates for various compliances."

This is the third extension of the date this year.

Importantly, this extension is for those taxpayers who do not need an audit.

Separate extension dates have been announced for other categories of taxpayers.
